Treats #85 - Original, Demo, Rare and Unreleased

BIGGIE feat. Sadat X

"Come On" (Demo Version)

 - This eventually found the light of day on B.I.G.'s Born Again album, but that version doesn't come close to this one. This is that Ready To Die BIGGIE.

LL Cool J

"Unknown Demo"

- Obviously not the real title but it says it all. The track is unknown and as you can tell by the shitty quality it is pure demo.

De La Soul

"Roadrunner" (Demo Version)

- This one is basically a De La version of Chi Ali's "Roadrunner".

The Roots

"Workinonit" (Demo Version)

- Produced by J Dilla.

Mobb Deep

"Shook Ones" (The Beatnuts Remix)

 - This one came courtesy of Stretch Armstrong. The Beatnuts remix to the original "Shook Ones" that never seen an official release.

Black Sheep feat. Q-Tip, Trugoy & Mike Gee "Birds Of A Feather"

The Native Tongues have officially been reinstated. Well not really, they have reunited though. Tribe's Q-Tip, De La Soul's Dave, and Jungle Brother's Mike Gee joining Dres for this track off Black Sheep's upcoming album From The Black Pool Of Genuis out June 29th. With all these rappers creating supergroups these days why can't we get a Native Tongues album?

I'm just sayin'.

De La Soul x Kid Robot

I like rap toys. Its the ultimate rap nerd shit. These ones are dope as hell. Kid Robot is putting out these De La figures in honor of the 20th anniversary of 3 Feet High & Rising (even though they are a year late). Click HERE for more flicks. Get them HERE on March 18th.

De La Soul "3 Feet High & Rising" 20 Year Anniversary

Love em or hate em, De La has more "first's" in Hip Hop than anybody. They did a lot of shit 1st... and sometimes the best. I can't front, they are one of my top 3.

I'm working on a 3 Feet High And Rising 12" mega-post but I gotta get that Bobby Brown mega-post together first!

Until then:

"Me Myself & I (Oplapos Mode)"

De La Soul "Big Mouf"

Here is the first record off De La Soul and Nike's Are You In? album. Not sure it will get me off the couch to run a few miles but I dig it (except the first 4 bars or so). The whole album is available now on iTunes.

De La Soul + Nike = Are You In? (Video)

Much like A-Trak's Running Man colabo with Nike, De La is the latest installment in their Original Run series. This sounds dope. A De La album made for Nike?! Sounds crazy.

Hip-Hop Honors '08 - Slick Rick & De La Soul

Hip-Hop Honors is the shit. Never thought I'd see Ghostface & Biz Markie perform "La-Di-Da-Di" or Chuck D perform "Stakes Is High".
