Treats #55 - N.W.A Live In Houston Circa '89

This is a rare recording of N.W.A. performing live in Houston back in 1989. This was a time when N.W.A. was finding it hard to perform anywhere because the Feds were trying to shut them down and the politics involved had promoters scurred. The only recordings of a N.W.A. show from this era that I've heard are this one and THIS one. For some bonus N.W.A., here is the video of an Ice Cube-less N.W.A.'s appearance on the Arsenio Hall show from 1990.

"Cruising down the street in my 6-4,
Jockin the freaks, clocking the dough,
Went to the park to get the scoop,
Knuckleheads out there cold shooting some hoops,
A car pulls up who can it be,
A fresh El Camino rolled, Kilo G,
He rolls down his window and he started to say,
It's all about making that GTA,

Cuz the boyz-n-tha hood are always hard,
You come talking that trash we'll pull your card,
Knowing nothing in life but to be legit,
Don't quote me boy, cuz I ain't saying shit"

Treats #26 - N.W.A. Live At Celebrity Arena '89

Some more rare rap shit. This is N.W.A. Live At The Celebrity Arena circa 1989. This isn't the concert from the 'Boyz In The Hood' tour poster above (but I love old concert poster/flyers so I had to use it), it's a N.W.A. and Eazy-E concert from a few years later. I say N.W.A. AND Eazy-E because Eazy-E had top billin' back then. N.W.A. rocks first and then they bring out Eazy-E. It's a trip to hear Dr. Dre and Ice Cube intro Eazy and play the hype man role. It's basically just like the "We Want Eazy" video. I assume Celebrity Arena is in Compton because at the end of the show the crowd starts to wild out and you can hear some dude yell "Compton's in the house!" This is N.W.A. in Los Angeles at the height of their popularity. As a bonus, I also upped Eazy-E & Dr. Dre Live At The Roadium Swapmeet, which is a 10 minute Dr. Dre megamix hosted by Eazy Motherfuckin' E from 1986.
