Crooklyn Dodgers "Crooklyn" 12"

Another one of THE GREATEST 12 INCHES OF ALL TIME (you gotta say that like Muhammad Ali), this one is great because the song is a classic plus the 12" came with vocal, acapella and instrumental versions. It was also a Brooklyn super group put together by Spike Lee for his movie Crooklyn with legends Masta Ace, Special Ed, and Buckshot. Not sure why Q-Tip (Queens Tip) got to produced the track because he isn't from Brooklyn, but he was hot as hell as a producer back then (Nas, Tribe) so it worked. As a bonus, I threw in both Crooklyn Dodgers '95 and Crooklyn Dodgers III that were cool but never lived up to the original Crooklyn Dodgers (#2 came close).

Vintage Spike Lee Nike Commercial

Courtesy of the Meaning Of Dope, an old Spike Lee Nike commercial that played off Do The Right Thing and the racial slur scene. Live together, play together is the message of the day. if you can't remember the racial slur scene from Do The Right Thing then you probably haven't seen the movie. Below is a reminder.

Do The Right Thing On Sesame Street

Ernie as Mookie, Bert as Radio Raheem, Oscar The Grouch as Da Mayor, Big Bird as Buggin' Out, Mr. Hooper as Sal, The Count as Mister Senor Love Daddy. This is humorous. Fight The Power.

BONUS Sesame Street...

Blowfly "Sesame Street"
The funkiest Sesame Street skit ever. Who were the musicians?!

Michael Jordan - A Spike Lee Joint

Spike Lee is probably the most well known Air Jordan sneaker freak in the world. It started with his Mars Blackman character in She's Gotta Have It, continued with Buggin' Out in Do The Right Thing, immortalized with the Mars Blackman Air Jordan commercials, and now he even has his own AJ model in the Spizike's. So it comes as no surprise that today Spike announced his plans to shoot a full length documentary about Michael Jordan's last 2 years in the NBA. Spike claims it won't be a puff piece which may be hard for him to pull of since he is so clearly on MJ's dick. Spike hopes to have the film done in time for next years Cannes Film Festival.
