Eric B and Rakim

Eric B & Rakim - Paid In Full LP 12"s

I'm not sure there is much that needs to be said about Eric B & Rakim. They are one of the most influential groups in Hip-Hop. Rakim is among the great (if not THE greatest) MC's of all time and he changed the way rappers rapped. They have countless hits and all of their albums are classic material. Nobody really knew what Eric B actually did other than DJ sometimes, but that doesn't matter! As Eric B & Rakim, this duo was number one competitions is none. With that said, here's all the 12 Inches from their debut album Paid In Full.

Classic Material - Rakim Live In Toronto ('87)

My favorite spot on the net is the Meaning Of Dope because they put up video like this one. Rakim live in Toronto from waaaaay back in the late 80's. Then, I blatantly jack them and post their videos here at Nation Of Millions. It's a beautiful thing.

Classic Material - Rakim Freestyle

And just to make my Retro Kidz point 100% clear (see post below), here is a Rakim freestyle from around the same time frame the Retro Kidz are jacking their whole shit from. It's all about skills kidz and nobody can fuck with Rakim. Imagine a Rakim vs. Retro Kidz battle? Shouts to MeaningOfDope for another jem from the archives.

Eric B Met The President

The folks over at Unkut have answered a question I've been asking myself for 15 years now - 'I wonder what Eric B is doing these days?' Don't front, you know you've thought the same. With help from Wikipedia that mystery has finally been solved. Eric B is Paid In Full!

"Eric is now the owner of 47 restaurants throughout the U.S. including New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, California, Texas, Washington DC, and most recently, Pennsylvania. Residing in a 57,000 sq. ft. palatial manor, Eric has become the ideological musician turned entrepreneur turned royalty and has truly taken his hit song Eric B is President to fruition. With a car collection featuring seven Rolls Royce vehicles, including the famed Rolls Royce featured on the cover of Follow the Leader, Eric’s vehicular menagerie features a Rolls Royce Phantom, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Aston Martin, and many other sought-after cars and trucks.

Recently featured on MTV Cribs, Eric B’s home, with a staff of 14 grounds keepers, chefs, maids, and security staff, was influenced by oriental design.

In 2007 Eric was honored by the President of the United States with an invitation to the White House where he met President George W. Bush, the First Lady and other dignitaries." - Wikipedia

Eric B & Rakim performing Eric B Is President and I Know You Got Soul at The Apollo back in 1986. This is that shit! Even though Rakim was just rapping over the actual records. they still  absolutely murdered The Apollo.

Classic Material: Eric B & Rakim "Juice"

The Meaning Of Dope is my new favorite blog. Everything they put up is the illest shit ever so I am just going to start blatantly jacking their posts and putting them up at Nation Of Millions. This is Eric B & Rakim performing "Know The Ledge" on In Living Color.

Treats #5 - 1987 Def Jam UK Tour

This was recorded live in Amsterdam on the 1987 Def Jam UK Tour featuring Public Enemy, LL Cool J and Eric B & Rakim (they weren't on Def Jam but they were managed by RUSH). It's straight bootleg but super ill. One of the greatest tour line ups EVER.
