Inspired by the incredibly dope Tribe documentary Beats, Rhymes and Life, Mick Boogie has put together an equally dope mixtape of all rare, remixed, and hard to find A Tribe Called Quest joints (with equally as dope artwork to go with it). Read the blurb below from Mick and then grab this tape asap, pop it in your cassette deck, and press play!

 

"A Tribe Called Quest is one of my favorite groups of all time... in any genre of music. After seeing Michael Rapaport's amazing documentary on the group, I felt inspired to put together a mix and this is the end result. This is NOT a greatest hits mix. This mix is for the true Tribe fans only... the die-hards who know every lyric and remember every interlude. I thought it would be cool to basically create the "lost" Tribe album... with all the rare songs, demos, limited-edition remixes, and collaborations you may have missed over the years. The Native Tongues have officially been reinstated. Well not really, they have reunited though. Tribe's Q-Tip, De La Soul's Dave, and Jungle Brother's Mike Gee joining Dres for this track off Black Sheep's upcoming album From The Black Pool Of Genuis out June 29th. With all these rappers creating supergroups these days why can't we get a Native Tongues album?

I'm just sayin'.

I want this! A Tribe Called Quest is one of my all time favorite groups and I'm a sucker for anything ARCQ. I even traded a pair of Black/Blue Jordan 1's for a nowhere close to as fresh pair of Tribe Jordan 1's (don't ask me why and yes, I'm regretting that move). So to me this is the greatest watch ever. Prince Crashes Q-Tip Concert

I was going to post this story a few weeks ago but slept on it, but since the video footage has arrived here it goes. Q-Tip was performing "Vivrant Thing" in Vegas and out of nowhere Prince jumped on stage and grabbed the guitarists gee-tar and started rockin' with Tip's band! Prince has to be the coolest dude ever that has worn ladies pumps. Check the video above for the footage and peep below for what Q-Tip's DJ, DJ Scratch, had to say about the Purple Ones appearance.

“Yo, while me and Q-tip were performing “Vivrant Thing” in Vegas last night….this ni**a Prince walked out on the stage, took the guitar from our guitar player and just started rocking! None of us knew he was there until he popped up on the stage…. then the ni**a vanished like Batman, LOL!

The sound crew said Prince was in the balcony watching the show from the very beginning (The balcony was closed off). Then when “Vivrant Thing” came out, he just came backstage and walked out on stage.

None of us knew what was happening, then when we finished the show he was gone LOL!”
