Treats #90 - Nas' Columbia Records Illmatic Release Party Performance (1994)
Written By Jay Swing on Sun, 01/29/2012.
"Y'all ready for Nas? Y'all ready for Nasty Nas?!"
This is quite the Rap Treat - a recording of Nas performing at his Columbia Records' Illmatic album release party from 1994. Gems like this don't surface every day. Who ever is responsable for pressing record and then ripping it to digital 15+ years later I salute you. This is one of my favorite albums of all time, top 5 easy (although there are probably 20 albums or so in my top 5). Having the audio of Nas' performance is just crazy to me. Nas and crew run through a few cuts from the album including "Represent", "It Ain't Hard To Tell", "The World Is Yours", and "Life's A Bitch".

Slick Rick "Need Some Bad" (Produced by DJ Premier)
Written By Jay Swing on Wed, 12/07/2011.

By now I'm sure you've figured out that NationOfMillions is on some vintage shit. Proud of it too. Its not too hard to find the new Drake, J Cole, or even wack ass Riff Raff record in blog world. With that said, here is some new shit from some vintage ass motherfuckers. If this was the early 90's I'd prolly bust a nut (seriously), but these two hooking up is better late than never. One of the greatest rappers ever teaming up with one of the greatest producers ever. And it goes a little something like this...

Treats #89 - Jay-Z & Kanye West's Watch The Throne Tour LIVE
Written By Jay Swing on Sat, 11/05/2011.
There are two concert this year that have me geeked out. The first is motherfucking Prince, and the very next night it is these two - Jay-Z & Kanye. That's right, Prince and Watch the Throne back to back. Throw in Pete Rock vs. Premier in town that same weekend and odds are I'm going to lose my fucking mind. Anyways, if you can't make (or afford) the Watch The Throne show then here is your fix - a recording of the whole concert from North Carolina. Hov & 'Ye Stans rejoice. 40+ songs. Cray!

ASAP Rocky - The Peso EP
Written By jswing on Mon, 10/10/2011.
If you check NationOfMillions then you've probably heard of ASAP Rocky. Not because we have been up on his music since day one, because we haven't (please accept our late pass). You are probably familiar with him because if you frequent this site then you know your shit. Like the previous post's topic, Jay Elect, ASAP Rocky is one of those artists that I am most def checking for. Dude isn't the baddest rapper to ever come out of Harlem, but his shit is just so fresh it doesn't matter. Just to bring you up to speed, here is a zip of 6 of his iller records. I call it The Peso EP but there is nothing official about it. A better title would probably be ASAP Rocky Songs That I Really Like, but The Peso EP just sounds better. If you are familiar already then there isn't much new here ("Peso" and "Trilla" are the newest records), but if ASAP Rocky is new to you then download this immediately! For everything ASAP check them out HERE.

Jay Electronica feat. Mobb Deep - Call Of Duty
Written By jswing on Mon, 10/10/2011.
Yes! This is what I'm talking about, or actually more correctly what I haven't been talking about. As you can tell new posts are far and few between around these parts. There are a lot of hot records and hot artists out today, but none of them make me want to run to the site and post their shit. Jay Electronica isn't one of those dudes. I'm a fan. Dude can rap. I don't mean a few hot 16's can rap, I mean he can fuck with the Nas', Jay-Z's, Andre 3000's of the game can rap. "Exhibit C" is still the best song that has come out in the past few years to me. This is why I ran to the site to post this new record featuring Mobb Deep. Enjoy!

Treats #88 - L.L. Cool J "Year Of The Hip-Hop" (circa 1994)
Written By jswing on Tue, 09/13/2011.

L.L. Cool J is hard as hell! Well not so much these days, but this record here is much closer to the "Rock The Bells" L.L. than it is to the "Hey Lover" L.L. This was actually recorded back in '94 with K-Def, but was lost (behind a radiator) until now. Slice-Of-Splice Records is going to press up 500 copies of this record, so if you have the cash click HERE to pre order your copy. For the full story on this unreleased L.L. Cool J joint let's take it straight from the soundcloud page...
"Back in 1994 K-Def was working on some beats out of the B Room in Marly Marl's House Of Hits when LL Cool J walked in on his session and said "let's make some tracks together". Uncle L had always wanted to rhyme on a track using the famous ESG breakbeat 'UFO', so he had Def lay it down with some scratches and then went to town with the mic. Both thought they had a sure fire hit on their hands but unfortunately it was never used.
The DAT tape of the studio session was feared lost for several years before it eventually turned up stuck behind a radiator! Now, 17 years later, K-Def and Slice-of-Spice are proud to present 'Year Of The Hip Hop' in all it's vinyl glory.
As with all Slice-of-Spice pressings, no expense is being spared for this vinyl labor of love. Outside of a full color cover, with a 3mm spine, the special limited edition version comes on solid orange vinyl, with individual gold stamp numbering. Once again we're coming at you with strong cover art from the legendary Joe Buck, and personally we think this is his best one yet!"
A Tribe Called Quest - Excursions (Mixed by Mick Boogie)
Written By Jay Swing on Fri, 07/22/2011.
Inspired by the incredibly dope Tribe documentary Beats, Rhymes and Life, Mick Boogie has put together an equally dope mixtape of all rare, remixed, and hard to find A Tribe Called Quest joints (with equally as dope artwork to go with it). Read the blurb below from Mick and then grab this tape asap, pop it in your cassette deck, and press play!
"A Tribe Called Quest is one of my favorite groups of all time... in any genre of music. After seeing Michael Rapaport's amazing documentary on the group, I felt inspired to put together a mix and this is the end result. This is NOT a greatest hits mix. This mix is for the true Tribe fans only... the die-hards who know every lyric and remember every interlude. I thought it would be cool to basically create the "lost" Tribe album... with all the rare songs, demos, limited-edition remixes, and collaborations you may have missed over the years. I hope when you enjoy this as much as I do, and hear some things you have never heard before. Special thank you to UNDERCRWN for the amazing artwork. Long live A Tribe Called Quest!" - Mick
